Then vs Now … 8 of the “Harry Potter Cast”


Based on the J K Rowling novels, the “Harry Potter” movie series have been a huge success, spanning across a large part portion of our lives.

We have followed Harry Potter and his two best friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger through adventures, heartbreak, and even death. All these have shaped Harry into the great wizard he needs to be to face Lord Voltemort.

With the story at an end, let’s look at what the cast have been up too since leaving Hogwarts …

1. Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom)
Now staring in the TV series “Bluestone 42”, Matthew was named one of the major contributors to the “Harry Potter” cast by Rowling. A football fan … his favourite team is Leeds Units.



2. Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley)
Still acting Bonnie has also branched into minor directing roles. Residing in England, she loves to surf and play soccer.



3. Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood)
An Irish actress, Evanna shares Luna’s good qualities, doing charity work for various organisations including Multiple Sclerosis Society of Ireland. She is a massive cat-lover, naming her own cat Luna.



4. Emma Watson (Hermione Granger)
Recently seen in “Noah”, Emma has had a successful acting career since “Harry Potter”. Awarded the Calvin Klein Emerging Star award in 2012, Emma has had a very successful acting career, recently being seen in the movie “Noah”. As a United Nations ambassador, she is a massive supporter for woman around the world who are victims of abuse, travelling the globe in support of gender equality.

5. Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley)
Always interested in acting, Harry started putting on shows for his family from just four years old. Recently cast in three roles for live theatre – “King Lear”, “Peddling” and “The Angry Brigade” Harry has been kept busy since the ‘Harry Potter” films.



6. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter)
The beloved young wizard has grown into a normal adult. Being one of the world’s most recognisable people, Daniel leads a somewhat ordinary life. Recently appearing on Broadway, he continues to star in independent films.



7. Rupert Grint (Ronald Weasely)
This enthusiastic and passionate wizard is still very active within the Hollywood scene. Rupert has given animation a go, recording a voice over for the film “Postman Pat: The Movie”, as well as starring in Ed Sheehan’s music video “Lego House” in 2011.

8. Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)
Before starring in “Harry Potter”, Tom worked alongside Jodie Foster in “Anna and the King”. He has since starred in blockbusters such as “Planet of the Apes”. With music being a passion, Tom is a both a founding owner and talent of Six String Productions. He likes hip-hop and acoustic-based music claiming Eminem and Jack Johnson as inspiration.
